DIY HAND CREAM

DIY HAND CREAM

To sooth dry hands and condition nails

Our hands go through a lot. Harsh weather, frequent hand washing and exposure to the sun can all leave them feeling a bit tired and dry. So we’re going to share with you a way to fix all of that! And even better, this cream can be used on any dry skin patches and even add shine to your hair! It’s a win win!

YOU WILL NEED:

A pot to keep it in. You can either make a big pot if you want to keep it at home, or if you want to carry it around with you then several smaller pots would be a better option. It will make around 4x100ml pots or 8x50ml pots.

1 Cup (237ml) Coconut Oil

1 Cup (237ml) Olive Oil

5 Tbsp. Beeswax Pastilles

5 drops Essential Oil: Lavender, Peppermint & Rosemary go very nicely together as do Lemon, Orange & Lavender.  You can adjust the drops depending on your own preference.

METHOD:

1. Melt the Coconut Oil, Olive Oil and Beeswax together in a heat-proof glass jug. Either
a) very gently microwave and check every 15 seconds and stir OR
b) place the glass jug in a pan of very hot water and allow to melt, stirring every few minutes.

2. Drop your essential oil drops into your pots as you wait for the mixture to melt.

3. Once the mix has melted together give it a final stir and pour into your pots where you will already have placed your essential oils. Use something small to give it a quick swirl with the oils and then cover with a tea towel and set aside for 24 hours to fully solidify.

And voila! Your very own super nifty, useful and grease free hand cream. Easy!
